The seeds, from school to the world<\/strong> is a project within the Education for Social Transformation program and funded by the Directorate General of Immigration and Development Cooperation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will be carried out during the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years at the CEIPIESO Son Basca, CEIP Verge de Lluc, CEIP Es Molinar and CEIP Voramar centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first sessions began in February, where students learned about local varieties and how to distinguish them from modern, hybrid or genetically modified (GMO) varieties. They also began preparing the summer garden with several varieties of lettuce, tomatoes and peppers, and transplanted white lettuce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative brings children and the educational community closer to the knowledge of local varieties and to reflection on the origin of the food we consume. Through work in the school garden, over several sessions during the course, values and concepts such as food sovereignty, agroecology and fair trade are promoted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project aims to sow critical awareness and promote more sustainable habits, connecting the school with the territory and with a global view towards food systems and towards the people who make food production possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
