As every year, we organized the annual visit to a member farm. This year it was on Friday, April 25th, at Can Polla, Son Mesquida (Felanitx), a family farm, where all the members are our members.
Maria Eulàlia, Llorenç and Cosme showed us their farm, where they grow local varieties of fruit trees and cereals, such as dead wheat, xeixa wheat and Mallorcan barley. They also have native breeds, such as the Mallorcan sheep or the Mallorcan black pig.
We learned how they manage the farm and the different crops, and how they manage it to make their own food for the animals.
After they explained everything to us, we had a very complete snack!
